TOUR ITINERARY

DAY 1: ARRIVAL IN NEGOMBO

Arrive at the Colombo International Airport and transfer to your hotel in Negombo for overnight.

DAY 2:  NEGOMBO – GALLE

After breakfast at hotel, check-out and transfer to the Turtle Hatchery where you could see hundreds of baby turtles and their breeding. After visit, continue towards Galle. 

Galle is the best example of a fortified city built by Europeans in south and Southeast Asia, showing the interaction between European architectural styles and south Asian traditions. Visit the Galle Fort, a UNESCO site and the Galle Museum.  

Leave for Weligama and witness one of Sri Lanka’s most emblematic sights, stilt fishermen in Dickwella. The stilts consist of a single pole and crossbar planted out in the sea, on which fishermen perch while casting their lines when the currents are flowing in the right direction. Positions are highly lucrative thanks to the abundant supplies of fish, even close to shore, and are handed down from father to son. Return to Galle in the evening for overnight stay.

DAY 3:  GALLE – HUMMANAYA – NUWARA ELIYA

After check-out, you will be transferred to Nuwara Eliya. On en-route, visit the Hummanaya Blow Hole. The Hummanya is also known as “blow hole” in the region of Sri Lanka and it is considered as the second largest in the league of blow holes, but Sri Lanka’s one and only. 

Proceed to Haputale and visit the Lipton’s Seat. It is a most famous view point of Badulla district and popular visiting place closed to Haputale Sri Lanka. Lipton Seat is an observation point and at least 7 districts can be seen in this location.  

Continue towards Nuwara Eliya, also known as Little England. It is here that the British planters made their home, preferring the cooler climate; a vestige of Sri Lanka’s colonial past. Visit the famous Ramboda Waterfall and embrace the beautiful scenery as you unravel the glamour of the waterfall itself.

DAY 4:  NUWARA ELIYA – DAMBULLA

After breakfast, take a stroll enjoying the breathtaking surroundings of the cool mountains and the luscious Tea Estates in this morning. Visit the Blue field Tea Factory and a plantation in Nuwara Eliya. After the Tea Plantation tour, transfer to Dambulla and check-in your hotel.

Spend the rest of the day at leisure and have dinner at hotel.

DAY 5:  DAMBULLA – VILLAGE TOUR – MINNERIYA NATIONAL PARK

Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to Habarana and enjoy a village safari tour in Hiriwadunna Village. The tour begins with a scenic journey on a Bullock cart followed by a boat ride. Spend some time at leisure in the village to experience the rice making process and have a chance to prepare Sri Lankan bread (Kurahan Rotti). 

After lunch, visit the Minneriya National Park. Here is known as one of the best places in the country to see wild elephants, which are often present in huge numbers, and wading birds. Dominated by the ancient Minneriya Tank, the park has plenty of scrub, forest and wetlands in its 88.9 sq km to also provide shelter for toque macaques, sambar deer, buffalo, crocodiles and elephants.

DAY 6:  DAMBULLA – COLOMBO – DEPARTURE

After early check-out, transfer to Colombo. Embark on a city tour of Colombo.  Visit the new Parliament is situated in the Old Capital, the latest Art Theatre in the shape of a Lotus Flower – The NELUM POKUNA, the Colombo Museum which is another main attraction in Colombo and the Arcade Independence Square, which is the third super-complex to pop up in Colombo, after the Dutch Hospital and Racecourse.

A Visit to Barefoot a unique shop where you will find many hand woven bright colored fabric, books, stationary, household goods, clothes and many more. Tour the Old Dutch Hospital (build by Dutch) now a renowned shopping and eating place. 

Spend the late afternoon at your own leisure and transfer to airport for your international flight back home.
